It has indeed been quite a while since I've posted to my LJ.  My life has been so very busy.  My job has been keeping me on my toes.  I have a supervisee from HELL!!!!  The real bitch about this is that I'm learning a lot about being a supervisor.  I think that due to her acting-out I'm a better supervisor to the other folks I supervise.  I certainly appreciate them more.

My Buzz Boy has kept me very busy too.  He and I both are training for the AIDS Life Cycle.  I have to say right here folks, that I have never challenged myself so drastically ever before in my life.  This is challenging my body, and my mind more than anything before.
Recently we rode from Sel Mar near San Diego up the coast to San Onofre and back completing eighty miles.  This picture was at mile 60 in Carlsbad.

At the half-way point I had no idea how I'd ever make it through the remainder of the ride.  But after eating I was able to complete the ride with some energy left over.  For most of the ride we rode with a snower rider keeping us together in a group of 4.  That made it lots of fun and we encouraged and motivated eathother.

Last weekend we again did an eighty mile ride.  This one took us from Santa Monice, down to Palos Verdes, over the top of Palos Verdes (a steep  L O N G hill.  Here I was at the top of this hill.  I couldn't believe I'd made it to the top.  You can just see the beach below behind my rear view mirror.

This was at about mile 25.  Fifty-five more to go.  Ugh!!!!  It was not to be.  I had started the day feeling queezy in the stomach.  By the time I made it to the last pit stop I was sapped.  They were telling me "oh come on. It's only 11 more miles and we will take it at your speed."  I knew that I was at the end of my strength and I got in the car with a fellow rider and her husband and rode to the end.  Good for me since it was indeed 20 miles more and not 11.  There was also a stiff head-wind.  I do not regret ending at mile 60. For starting out feeling ill 60 was like riding 100.

Training continues and there will be other 80 mile rides.  One in fact comes up in only 2 weeks time.  I'll be ready for it and will finish it; unless I start out feeling sick again.

Alas training and work aren't the only things happening in my life.  Buzzy and I took my son and his step-brother to a Dodgers game a couple weeks ago.  I'd never been to a pro baseball game so it was a first for me as well as for the boys.  We filled-up on Dodger-dogs, cotton candy and nachos and soda.  We all got new ball caps and had a great time.

This was one of the most wonderful events in the last few months. We took great joy in participating in the "wave" and the boys, Isaac, and Joseph, delighted in seeing the wave travel around the stadium.  There were nice folks sitting in front of us who were more than happy to tell us more than we ever wanted to know about the Dodgers team and it's players and it's history.  The boys were in good humor and no one got grumpy.  They feel fast asleep immediately upon hitting the road for home and they talked about the game all the next day.  Now we need to do something with the girls.  Maybe Disneyland.

This weekend Buzz and I spent a relatively quiet weekend staying cool in the airconditioned house.  We watched TV and had a soak in the hot tub.  Today Buzz helped me install a ceiling fan in my bedroom.  I turely have the worlds greatest boyfriend.  I lofe the light in his eyes when he smiles at me.  He is so kind and caring.  Back the last time I posted to LJ I couldn't imagine falling any more in love but I have.  The better I know him the happier I am and the mroe I love him.  :)

Mmmmmm.  I'm getting sleepy.  Installing the ceiling fan required a lot of over-head work and standing on a step ladder which was placed in the middle of a bead was tricky.  LOL!!!  Thank goodness Buzzy was there to hold the ladder (among other valuable things).

Don't forget folks.  I'm still fund raising.  It's not too late.  There's still time.  :)
Go to http://www.aidslifecycle.org/5357  and make any size contribution.  Every dollar counts to help people living with the effects of HIV/AIDS.

Bed time for me.
Ciao folks.
